Project Viewer — Open MPP Files Online, Free

Microsoft Project's .mpp format has no viable client-side parser today (see below) — export your schedule to CSV or XML for full viewing, with nothing ever uploaded.

2. View instantly

3. Download when done

What this viewer does

  • Clear, honest message (not a silent failure) when a real .mpp is opened
  • Download button still works — get your original file back
  • CSV/XML exports of a Project schedule render fully in this site's CSV/XML viewers
  • Consistent site-wide design even for an unsupported format

How it's rendered

Pending — see note. MPP is a proprietary binary schedule format with no reliable, permissively-licensed client-side JavaScript parser available today.

Nothing about this file is ever sent to a server — open your browser's DevTools Network tab while using this viewer and you'll see no request carrying your file's contents.

100% Private

Files never leave your device. There is no server that ever receives your file's contents.

No Uploads

Every format is decoded and rendered locally via WebAssembly or JavaScript. Open your browser's Network tab and confirm nothing is sent.

No Storage

Nothing is written to a server or database. Memory clears the moment you close or reload the tab.

GDPR-friendly by design

There's no file data collection to comply with in the first place — no account, no tracking of file contents, no analytics on what you view.

MS Project viewer — FAQ

Can I actually view an MPP file here right now?

Not yet — there's no viable open-source client-side parser for Microsoft Project's format today.

How do I view my project schedule in the meantime?

Export it to CSV or XML from Microsoft Project — both formats render fully in this site's other viewers.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No — even without live parsing, nothing about the file is ever sent to a server.

Will MPP support be added later?

If a viable client-side parser becomes available, yes — this page is ready to be upgraded without changing its URL.

Why is MPP harder to support than DWG or STEP?

DWG and STEP at least have documented (if complex) formats and open-source projects targeting them. MPP has neither a public spec nor an active open-source parsing project we could find.
