Visio Viewer — Open VSD/VSDX Files Online, Free

Microsoft Visio's format has no viable client-side parser today (see below) — export your diagram to PDF or SVG for full viewing, with nothing ever uploaded.

2. View instantly

3. Download when done

What this viewer does

  • Clear, honest message (not a silent failure) when a real .vsd/.vsdx is opened
  • Download button still works — get your original file back
  • PDF and SVG exports of a Visio diagram render fully in this site's PDF/image viewers
  • Consistent site-wide design even for an unsupported format

How it's rendered

Pending — see note. Visio's .vsd/.vsdx format has no well-maintained, permissively-licensed client-side parser we could find, unlike DXF or STEP which have documented open formats and library ecosystems to build on.

Nothing about this file is ever sent to a server — open your browser's DevTools Network tab while using this viewer and you'll see no request carrying your file's contents.

100% Private

Files never leave your device. There is no server that ever receives your file's contents.

No Uploads

Every format is decoded and rendered locally via WebAssembly or JavaScript. Open your browser's Network tab and confirm nothing is sent.

No Storage

Nothing is written to a server or database. Memory clears the moment you close or reload the tab.

GDPR-friendly by design

There's no file data collection to comply with in the first place — no account, no tracking of file contents, no analytics on what you view.

Visio viewer — FAQ

Can I actually view a Visio file here right now?

Not yet — there's no viable open-source client-side parser for Visio's format today.

How do I view my Visio diagram in the meantime?

Export it to PDF or SVG from Visio (or open it in free tools like LibreOffice Draw and export from there) — both formats render fully in this site's other viewers.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No — even without live parsing, nothing about the file is ever sent to a server.

Will Visio support be added later?

If a viable client-side parser becomes available, yes — this page is ready to be upgraded without changing its URL.

What's the difference between .vsd and .vsdx?

Both are Visio diagram formats — .vsdx is the newer, ZIP-based format; .vsd is the older binary format. Neither has a viable client-side parser today.
